ICSE syllabus is difficult as compared to CBSE. CBSE syllabus focuses more on Science and Mathematics. The syllabus which is followed by the ICSE board is more comprehensive and complete as compared to ICSE syllabus, that give equal importance to all fields like science, mathematics, language, arts, home science, agriculture, fashion design and cookery.

One can give best opportunity to his child to work on his overall growth by choosing ICSE as compared to CBSE. ICSE gives more importance to practical knowledge of the students. But the syllabus is both practical and theoretical. In this way a student can get effective understanding of the subject and learn better analytical skills.

Students in ICSE can choose different subjects and it is the advantage of ICSE over CBSE. They can select vocational courses if they are interested in it. But in CBSE, students have to follow more pure academic subjects.

More practical tests are conducted with all subjects and scores and the internal assessment is very important in ICSE. It is more practical oriented and hence focuses more on lab work. Private Candidates are not allowed to appear in this examination. Hence, the examination allows suitable representation of the Governments responsible for schools which are affiliated with it in their territories/States.

There are three groups of the subjects that are offered in ICSE

Group 1:

It includes compulsory subjects like English, History, Civics & Geography and Indian language.

Group 2:

It includes any two from Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, Commercial Studies, Technical Drawing, Modern Foreign Language, Classical Language and Commercial Application.

Group 3:

It has any one from Computer Applications, Economic Applications, Commercial Applications, Art, Performing Arts, Home Science, Cookery, Fashion Designing, Physical Education, Technical Drawing Applications, Yoga, and Environmental Applications. Internal assessment of the students is carried out through the components of internal assessment of each subject on the basis of assignments, projects, Practical and course work. The weightage is 20% for internal assessment in group 1 and 2 and 50% weightage for group 3.

The marks obtained are calculated by taking the average of all the papers in subject where there are more than one paper E.g., Science, which include Physics, Chemistry etc.. The students study six subjects who are to appear in the examination, with anywhere from 1 to 3 papers in each subject. The 1 consists of History & Civics for HC&G and paper 2 consists of Geography for HC&G. Science consists of 3 papers each for physics, Chemistry and Biology. So there are 8-11 papers depending on the subjects. Council for Indian school certificate examination is a national level council.

Indian school certificate examination is conducted by council of India school certificate examination which is a private, non- public board of secondary education (class 12) in India. There is lot of schools and education bodies that comes under ICSE. The students who appeared in CISCE ICSE 10th class exam 2014 .They can check their results at official web portal of CISE. It is responsible to provide an examination in a course of general education through the medium of English which is in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy of India 1986.
