37 SSC, HSC students in Mumbai barred from giving exams after showing up late

MUMBAI: Total 37 students have been not allowed to appear in exams this year. 28 students from HSC and 9 students from SSC have been not allowed to sit in exams this year because they were late. Their only mistake was being late.

It is for the first time when students are allowed to sit in exams because of being late. Another 54 students also got warnings. This information is provided by Mumbai division that 37 students were not allowed to give their exams because they arrived late in examination hall.

HSC exams will end on Tuesday while SSC exams will end on 24 march 2019.

The reason of disallowing late comers in examination hall is the leaking of papers in last few years. Due to it Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has taken an action to disallow late comers in order to avoid such problems again.

It is said by Subhash Borse, who is in charge secretary, Mumbai division of the state board that those students who came after 15-20 minutes were allowed to sit in exams but those students who came after 30 minutes of starting of exam were not allowed to sit. These orders were given by officials.

Board has also increased the security system to avoid any bad circumstances. Flying crew were also present to monitor the centers in which exams are taken.

It is also said that these rules were very strict specially in the first week of starting of exam when 14 students were late because they came after 30 minutes of starting of exam.

The only reason to disallow the late students from appearing in exams was to avoid such problems of paper leakage which board have faced in the past years. Because of it many new rules and regulations have been made by board and authorities.
